Situated approximately half way down the eastern side of the South Island at Timaru, this ornate historic lighthouse was built out of kauri wood in 1877 and served at the entrance of the Timaru harbour until 1980 when it replaced with automatic harbour lights. The lighthouse was restored and moved to Maori Park, Timaru.
